Después de perderse la primera etapa del Baloise Belgium Tour ante Biniam Girmay, Tim Merlier (Soudal-Quickstep) se mostró intocable en el sprint hasta la meta en Knokke-Heist en la segunda etapa.
El belga superó fácilmente a Olav Kooij (Decathlon CMA CGM), mientras que Jasper Philipsen (Alpecin-Premier Tech) quedó atrapado detrás del líder de Kooij. Después de casi abandonar su sprint, Philipsen volvió a la tercera posición.
